2000 July 22:
The elite crew of the UKCCD Users Group
descended upon the Berkshire countryside on a beautiful summer's day -
conditions specially orders by our hosts - Jan and George Sallit.
Gear on display included Alex Colburn's LX200 auto-focuser with OTA temperature
sensor, Robert Dalby's LX200 mounts and Adrian Catterall's SBIG STV camera
coupled to his 5-inch refractor.
Robert and George competed nearby with Mead 5-inch SCT and 90 mm Maksutov
respectively. All three 'scopes had full aperture solar filter and
the sun put on a spectacular show of spots too many to count.
George threw in the towel - to combat ambient light on the STV LCD.
Later Adrian composed his recent LRGB shot of M57, Nik Szymanek showed his RGO 'commission' of RGB pro-shots from the William Herschel Telescope big two-shooter chip and Ian King his aurora pix from Kent taken the previous Saturday [2000 July 15]. All very impressive. Special thanks to Jan for putting up with the day's tom-foolery!
