I've acquired the diminutive Meade 70mm aperture f/5 refractor with goto pointing and
am enjoying the experience. These images show the amazing stellar penetration and detail possible from such a small telescope aided by sensitive superfast download USB2 Starlight Xpress HX516 and MX916 monochrome CCD cameras. Typically NO FILTERS are used and recently the ETX-70 has been piggybacked on my LX200 for better tracking. These images are a record of my progress over recent months.

CLUSTERS: Return to native ETX-70 f/5 for best resolution ever on OCs near Sirius including PNe in M46 Puppis. Also series of large/ small OCs in Auriga. ETX-70 piggybacked on Meade LX200 SCT.
These following summer shots via ETX-70 in polar mode on the patio with the SX Lodestar uncooled CCD.
wider angle shots via homemade focal reducer - M44+background galaxies; n2264; n2232.
the mix including M11/16/17/20/26/71: the Pleiades shot via ETX-70 OTA+DSLR piggybacked on LX200. In Nov 2007 tried a 1-1/4" light pollution reduction filter immediately before the MX9 CCD to good effect and some [smaller images] in lo-res 2x2 binned mode for more camera 'speed'.
