I've acquired the diminutive Meade 70mm aperture f/5 refractor with goto pointing and am enjoying the experience. These images show the amazing stellar penetration and detail possible from such a small telescope aided by sensitive superfast download USB2 Starlight Xpress HX516 and MX916 monochrome CCD cameras. Typically NO FILTERS are used and recently the ETX-70 has been piggybacked on my LX200 for better tracking. These images are a record of my progress over recent months. Some images taken in MX9 lo-res 2x2 binned mode eg x4 faster.

GALAXIES:These are the deepest images ever via the piggybacked ETX-70 of remote Abel Galaxy Clusters [AGC] at distances in millions of light-years and show mostly as negative images to just reveal the faint galaxy smudges.

GALAXIES: Return to the native ETX-70 f/5 on galaxies first recorded last spring [07] but here the OTA piggybacked on my Meade LX200 for the best quality ever via this modest 70mm OG 'scope.

NGC 7331+Stephan's Quintet in Pegasus - M31, M33, M101, M82, M51, Vega field galaxies and other Abell galaxy groups to maG 15, Leo SPRING galaxies M65/96, NGC 891 etc.
